NFC South Week 10 review: Falcons flip the script, stun Saints
8 hrs ago Panthers Wire

The Saints have been the team to beat in the NFC South for the last two and a half seasons. On Sunday though they suffered a huge collapse at home against the Falcons. So, maybe they aren’t quite as indestructible as everyone had thought.

Here’s our review of what happened around the division this week.

Nobody saw this one coming. New Orleans had a six-game win streak going coming into Week 10 and Atlanta appeared to be dead in the water. The Falcons defense flipped the script, holding the Saints to just nine points in a stunning upset. They were dominated in the trenches – a normally flawless offensive line allowed Drew Brees to get sacked six times and Latavius Murray and Alvin Kamara combined for just 36 yards on the ground. The division leaders also saw Marshon Lattimore suffer a hamstring injury. The Saints will try to rebound at Tampa Bay next week

8 observations from the Packers' win over Panthers
3 hrs ago Packers Wire

The Green Bay Packers talked all week about bouncing back from a disappointing effort in Los Angeles and going into the bye week with a win over the Carolina Panthers.

Matt LaFleur’s team delivered on Sunday, even if it took all 60 minutes to get it done. A goal-line stop with no time left cemented the 24-16 win over the Panthers at Lambeau Field.

Here are a few observations from Sunday’s win in the snow:

1. All Pro 97: Kenny Clark got it going early and never really quit. Overall, Sunday was easily his best performance since the first month of the season. On the second play of the game, Clark drove center Matt Paradis three yards into the backfield and then lassoed Christian McCaffrey down after a short gain. Paradis had trouble with Clark all night. McCaffrey gained 108 rushing yards, but Clark was a big reason why he didn’t have more. And he terrorized everyone in front of him in the passing game. According to Pro Football Focus, Clark finished with a career-high 10 pressures. He abused Paradis on a late third-down sack by Preston Smith. The struggling Packers defense needed an All-Pro performance from Clark, and he delivered one

'Zeke's not going anywhere' early Cowboys theme, never changed tune
4 hrs ago Cowboys Wire

Of all the maddening storylines of Sunday night’s 28-24 loss to Minnesota, the Cowboys’ stubborn insistence on sticking with a rushing attack that simply wasn’t working is near the very top of the list. But that failure in and of itself has two different components to it. There’s the playcalling from coach Jason Garrett and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. And yes, that was atrociously bad in key moments. But there’s also the ineffectiveness of the players actually executing those ground game plays, namely, defending rushing champ Ezekiel Elliott. And that’s the thing that might actually be more concerning for this team in the long run

Called 'fine' by Gase
6 hrs ago RotoWire

Coach Adam Gase termed Bell "fine" after emerging from Sunday's 34-27 win against the Giants with sore ribs, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

Bell dealt with knee and ankle injuries in practice this week and appears as if he'll have limitations this week as well. The combination of health concerns didn't help his efficiency Sunday, as he managed 34 yards on 18 carries. However, he helped his cause with by scoring a TD and hauling in all four targets for 34 yards. There's no indication that Bell's upcoming availability is in peril, but Wednesday's practice report will give a sense of his current standing.
